Macquarie York Brokers Landmark Broadbeach Site to Arada
NEWS
Macquarie York is proud to have facilitated the sale of the Central on Broadbeach development site at 2709–2723 Gold Coast Highway on behalf of Gold Coast developer John Potter to international developer Arada.
The significance of the transaction is now taking shape, with Arada unveiling plans for One Broadbeach, a landmark $2 billion mixed-use development comprising 952 residences across two towers rising 61 and 56 storeys.
Located opposite the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and directly adjacent to Broadbeach North light rail station, the site occupies a strategic position within the heart of the Broadbeach Principal Centre.
Designed by Plus Studio, the new proposal represents a major evolution of the site's existing development approval. In addition to the twin residential towers, plans include retail and hospitality uses, extensive resident amenities, landscaped plazas and new pedestrian connections designed to create a highly activated ground plane.
The development application proposes significantly enhanced public-realm outcomes, including a central pedestrian arrival aligned with the light rail station, through-site connections and improvements to Main Place.
Macquarie York Founder and CEO Roy Skaf said the transaction reflected the importance of matching significant development sites with groups capable of delivering projects of genuine scale and quality.
“We recognised from the outset that this was an exceptional development site. Securing Arada as the purchaser was a great outcome for John and everyone involved in the transaction.
Seeing Arada's vision now taking shape is particularly rewarding. One Broadbeach has the potential to become a landmark project for Broadbeach and a significant addition to the Gold Coast skyline.”
The acquisition represents Arada's first Queensland development and further demonstrates the strength of international investment in the Gold Coast property market.
For Macquarie York, the transaction reinforces our focus on connecting landowners, developers and investors with significant development opportunities across South East Queensland.
