Sunset Residences – Refined Design Progresses to Next Stage
NEWS
Macquarie York has lodged a Minor Change Application for its approved Sunset Residences development at 50 Sunset Boulevard, Surfers Paradise, signalling the next step in delivering this landmark riverfront project.
Designed by Plus Architecture, the updated scheme refines the original design while preserving its elegant coastal form. The 30-storey tower now comprises 72 luxury residences — a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments — each oriented to capture panoramic views of the Nerang River, hinterland and Gold Coast skyline.
Design Enhancements
- Improved functionality with 107 car spaces across two basement and three podium levels.
- Reimagined recreation deck featuring a larger gym, yoga space, wet-edge pool, and expanded communal lounge.
- Refined apartment layouts to enhance natural light, privacy and liveability.
- Enhanced landscaping and pedestrian connectivity to strengthen the project’s relationship with the riverfront.
Sustainable & Seamless Integration
The proposal exceeds active-transport and parking standards, ensuring no additional traffic impact compared with the approved design.
Sunset Residences will stand as a refined architectural statement on the Gold Coast, celebrating riverfront living through thoughtful design, warm materiality and a seamless connection between the skyline, streetscape and the Nerang River.
